State-level legislative tracking is the gap most legal and policy tooling leaves open, and LegiScan is the API that closes it; this server puts ten tools over it, aimed at research sessions rather than endpoint parity. Several are composite tools that collapse a multi-step research pattern — find the bill, pull its history, then its sponsors, then the roll call — into a single call. The unglamorous detail that decides whether it works in practice is bill number normalisation: AB 858, AB858 and AB-858 all resolve to the same bill, which is exactly the variation a model produces when it reads a number out of a news article. Per-request batching and lookup caching keep repeated bill and roll-call reads cheap. A free LegiScan API key is required.
