Two tools carry the work, both aimed at getting history out of a self-hosted workspace. mattermost_list_channels pages through public channels and, behind an explicit include_private flag, private channels and direct messages as well. mattermost_get_channel_history takes a channel id and narrows either by since_date and before_date for a range or by before_post_id and after_post_id for cursor paging; leaving the limit at zero returns everything, which is a real option on a quiet channel and a trap on a busy one. A scheduled monitoring mode watches named channels for named topics on a cron expression. Configuration resolves in a fixed order: CLI flags, then environment variables, then a gitignored local file, then the committed default.
