The premise is that an assistant works better when it has somewhere to put half-formed thoughts that do not belong in the reply. Entries are written in named sections — reflections, observations, project notes, notes about working with this person, engineering lessons, general knowledge — and storage is split: project material lands in a .private-journal directory beside the code, personal material in the home directory, so a repository never carries the second kind. Search is semantic, computed by a local transformer, so recalling an old entry involves no external service. Worth knowing before enabling it: the journal is plain Markdown on disk, and the user-context section holds the model's private notes about you.
