Built on the sec-edgar-toolkit library, the server covers CIK lookup, company facts, retrieval of 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings with section extraction, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow parsed from XBRL, and insider transactions from Forms 3, 4 and 5. Its defining choice is numeric rather than textual: figures come out of the XBRL facts instead of being read off filing prose, and every response carries the SEC URL it came from so a number can be checked at source. The SEC requires a descriptive user agent, supplied through SEC_EDGAR_USER_AGENT. Transport is stdio by default with a streamable HTTP mode for platforms that need it, though that mode carries no authentication of its own and the project restricts it to private networks. The license is AGPL-3.0, with commercial terms available separately.
