The app is installed from Splunkbase and serves the protocol on the management port under /services/mcp, which means the data never leaves the customer's own instance. Requests carry a bearer token and inherit the account's existing role-based permissions, so an agent cannot see more than the user behind it. Tools cover index discovery, saved searches, running SPL and turning a plain-language question into a query.
