Strapi changed shape between v4 and v5: numeric identifiers became document identifiers, the nested attribute wrapper flattened, and i18n moved from a plugin into the core. This server takes the target version from its config file and adapts request and response handling to it, which is the difference between a working REST call and a silent shape mismatch. A single config can register several Strapi instances, each with its own URL, token and version. Schema introspection comes first, then a generic REST tool covering filters and CRUD. Every write path, including media upload, sits behind an explicit authorization step rather than being available by default.
