The close workflow checks open-period status, unposted transactions and pending approvals, then sequences what remains by owner and priority. Two guardrails are worth noting: a board narrative is labelled preliminary or final depending on whether the period is actually closed, and journal-entry review flags manual entries above a threshold and asks for explicit confirmation before a high-risk reclass is posted.
