Shopify's own bundle puts about twenty skills behind one plugin, split between building and operating. Building covers Admin and Storefront GraphQL, ShopifyQL, Liquid themes, Hydrogen storefronts, Functions, custom data and the Polaris extension surfaces — app home, admin, checkout and customer account each carry their own rules — plus point-of-sale UI and payments apps. Operating goes through the Shopify CLI's store execute path rather than a bundled MCP server, which is why the plugin's MCP configuration is deliberately empty. The part that saves the most time is validation: GraphQL documents and Liquid are checked against current schemas before anything runs, so a wrong field name surfaces while writing instead of as a failed API call. Separate onboarding skills exist for developers and for merchants.
