A decision tree runs first: card-present goes to the iOS or Android Reader SDK, to the Cloud API when a backend drives a Solo reader remotely, or to Payment Switch when a legacy app handoff is genuinely required. Card-not-present splits between Hosted Checkout, the embedded Card Widget, mobile SDKs, tokenised recurring charges and a fully custom Checkouts API flow with 3DS and webhooks. A separate testing skill carries the sandbox conventions that are easy to get wrong — the happy-path and 3DS challenge card numbers, and an amount of 11 as the deliberate failure trigger, with an instruction to run the older 42.01-style amounts alongside it and record which one that flow actually honours.
