The design decision worth copying is the two-pass read: a first call returns only titles and metadata across the configured feeds, and full article content is fetched only for the items actually asked about. Dumping every article into the conversation is what makes a naive feed server unusable past the third source. Feeds are passed as arguments or imported wholesale from an OPML file exported out of Feedly, Inoreader or NewsBlur, and can also be added at runtime with add_feed. It is written in Go and shipped as a container image, a Homebrew formula and per-platform bundles for one-click install in Claude Desktop. URLs are validated and private address ranges blocked, and a circuit breaker drops a repeatedly failing feed instead of stalling every call.
