Everything happens on the Mac itself: the server opens the Messages and Contacts SQLite databases read-only, returns only what a tool call asks for, and touches Messages.app automation solely when the send tool is invoked. That design has a visible cost — reading requires Full Disk Access for whichever app launches the server, and a diagnostics tool exists precisely because those permissions are the usual point of failure. Beyond recent messages and fuzzy text search over a time window, it resolves Contacts by approximate name into send-ready phone numbers, lists named group chats, and checks whether a recipient looks reachable over iMessage before falling back to SMS or RCS. Attachments filter by date, sender and MIME type, with HEIC images converted to PNG.
