Linear hosts the server itself at mcp.linear.app, so nothing is installed locally: the client connects over streamable HTTP and authorizes with OAuth 2.1, an API key or a bearer token. Agents can find, create and update issues, projects and comments in the workspace the credential belongs to. A separate read-only endpoint exists for setups where write access is not wanted.
