NASA publishes its data across a scatter of separate services, and this server puts them behind one interface with consistent parameter validation. The api.nasa.gov side brings the astronomy picture of the day, EPIC Earth imagery, DONKI space weather, Mars rover photos, near-Earth objects, the natural event tracker, two-line element sets, the exoplanet archive and the POWER climate dataset. Beyond that it reaches JPL Solar System Dynamics for the small-body database, close-approach data, fireballs and Scout, plus Earth observation through GIBS, CMR and the FIRMS fire feed. Because all of those share one API key, the server manages rate limiting on that key rather than leaving each call to discover the ceiling on its own. It is an independent project and states plainly that it is not affiliated with NASA.
