New Relic hosts the server itself, with separate endpoints for the US, EU and Japan regions, and the client authenticates with a user API key or the documented OAuth flow. It gives an agent a single way into the platform's data, so an incident can be investigated without switching to the web UI. The feature is in public preview and is not available to FedRAMP-regulated accounts.
