This is not a wrapper over a geospatial API; it steers the QGIS application that is already open on the machine. Two pieces make that work: a QGIS plugin that opens a socket server inside the running instance, and an MCP process that talks to it. Rather than defining a tool per operation, execute_processing reaches the entire Processing Toolbox, so any algorithm QGIS can run is callable by name and parameters without the server having to know about it. execute_code goes further and runs arbitrary PyQGIS, which is the reason to think about what the model is allowed to touch before wiring this in. Projects can be created, saved and rendered to an image file from the same session. The design follows BlenderMCP, which took the same approach to a desktop application.
