The server starts working with no credentials at all, and it is honest about what that costs: in the keyless mode results come from Reddit's public RSS feed, so score, comment count, upvote ratio and the NSFW flag all return null and the NSFW filter cannot be applied. Adding free Reddit app credentials switches it to the API, unlocks search, comment threads and user analysis, and moves the rate limit from ten to sixty or a hundred requests per minute. Five tools cover browsing a subreddit with the usual hot, new, top, rising and controversial sorts, searching, pulling a post together with its comment tree, analysing a user's history, and explaining Reddit conventions to the model. It returns raw counts rather than invented sentiment scores.
