The selection principle is unusual and stated openly: the Android team writes skills only for areas where their evaluations show models underperforming, and deliberately skips ground that agents already handle well. What is left is the awkward middle of the platform — the R8 analyzer, Play Billing version upgrades, Media3 cast integration, Navigation 3, edge-to-edge insets, Leanback to Compose TV migration, Wear Compose M3, CameraX, intent security. Each skill is a SKILL.md with a references folder, sourced from developer.android.com, and installs through the Android CLI into whichever agent directories it detects.
