Serverless answers changed faster than a model's memory of them: Lambda now offers durable functions, managed instances and microVMs alongside the plain handler, and choosing wrong is expensive to undo later. These skills separate the cases and go into the parts that actually break — the replay model behind durable functions, where a step that is not idempotent silently reruns, callbacks that wait for a human decision, saga-style compensation on failure, and a local test runner so a workflow allowed to execute for up to a year can be exercised without waiting for it.
