Grep finds a string; it does not answer why a module exists or what depends on it. Greptile indexes a repository and answers questions about it in natural language, returning the files that support the answer. For a large or unfamiliar codebase this changes the first hour of work — the agent asks about the dependency shape instead of reading its way toward it.
