Local AI App Integration helps a coding agent convert an existing cloud-connected AI feature into an application-managed local experience. Its workflow centers on Embeddable Lemonade, allowing the application to start and supervise its own inference service while preserving much of the current API client architecture.
Highlights
- Audits the existing AI client, supported modalities, configuration points, and API-key checks before changes begin
- Selects an appropriate model and execution backend for chat, coding, vision, speech, embeddings, or image generation
- Adds lifecycle management for launching the local service, checking readiness, handling authentication, and stopping child processes
- Prepares backends and model files so first-run downloads and hardware differences are handled visibly
- Verifies timeouts, error recovery, loading states, local-mode configuration, and end-to-end inference behavior
The skill is useful for desktop application teams that want lower cloud dependence, greater data privacy, or an offline-capable mode without requiring customers to configure a separate AI server. It is published by AMD under the MIT license and can be installed through the official Claude plugin marketplace as part of the amd-skills package.
