Novastart
A desktop on an infinite canvas, shared with teammates and AI agents

Novastart replaces the usual stack of overlapping windows with an infinite whiteboard. You group apps into canvases for work, school, travel or finances, zoom in to edit a spreadsheet and zoom out to see every project at once. The founders added AI agents in June 2026: you describe a task, a lead agent splits it into parts, and helper agents each take a window you can see.
Highlights
- Gmail, Excel, WhatsApp, Notion and other apps open as real windows signed in as you, alongside any site in a bundled Chrome, ONLYOFFICE and Linux apps
- Saved canvases bring back every app, position and tab the next day
- Up to 10 agents per task, each with its own cursor; you can pause them all, step in mid-run or take a window back
- On the Team plan, teammates share a canvas and click and type in each other's windows, machine to machine, with built-in chat
- Two ways to run it: an app in a window on Windows or an Intel Mac, or Novastart OS installed on a dedicated PC
Good to know
- The app version runs a whole computer inside yours, so expect some lag; installing the OS is meant for the full experience
- Free allows 1 folder, 2 canvases and 4 windows per canvas; Pro ($10 a month) removes the limits; Team ($20 a month) adds collaboration
- Agent use is billed separately on every plan, at $0.02 per use from credit packs of $25 or more
For people who juggle many apps across projects and want to try computer-use agents where they can watch every step.
