Orkas
Open-source desktop app that runs a team of AI agents
Orkas runs a team of AI agents on your computer. You describe a goal in one chat window, and the Commander agent breaks it into steps and assigns them to specialists such as DeepResearcher, ContentWriter, PptMaker, VideoStudio and ProductDeveloper. The agents can work in parallel or one after another. Conversations, files and API keys stay on your device by default.
Highlights
- Commander plans the work and coordinates the specialist agents
- Runs coding CLIs you already have installed, such as Claude Code and Codex, as local sessions
- You can set up reusable agents, skills and MCP tools
- Connect your own keys for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi or GLM, or use Orkas-managed models
- The desktop client is open source under the MIT license
Orkas is aimed at solo founders and small teams who want research, documents, slides, videos and prototypes from one place. The app is free and gives 500 credits on first login. Paid plans (Lite, Pro, Max) add 5,000 to 50,000 monthly credits for managed models, plus shared projects and cloud sync.
