AlloyDB Omni is the same engine packaged to run on hardware you control, and the configuration shows it: there is no project or region, only a host that defaults to localhost on port 5432 with a user and password. That removes the Application Default Credentials step every other Google database skill in this family depends on. Nine groups cover the ground, two of which have no cloud counterpart: one for the container runtime and one for the Kubernetes operator. The optimize group is worth knowing about separately, because it tunes the columnar engine, which is where Omni's analytical speed comes from and the first thing to check when a scan is slower than expected.
