The plugin runs the hana-cli MCP server through npx and reaches both HANA Cloud and on-premise systems. Breadth is the point: schema and object inspection, CSV, Excel and JSON import and export, data quality profiling, expensive-statement and deadlock analysis, memory and blocking-session reports, privilege audits, backup and restore, CDS generation and HDI container work. Credentials are discovered in a fixed order rather than requested — an admin environment file first, then the CAP dynamic binding file, then the environment or VCAP_SERVICES — which lets the same install follow a developer between a local CAP project and a managed instance without editing configuration each time.
