One setting changes what the agent should write. SPANNER_DIALECT selects GoogleSQL or PostgreSQL, and the same database is addressed with different SQL depending on it, so getting that variable right matters more than usual. The skill lists tables, lists graphs, and runs statements through two separate entry points, one for read only DQL and one for the general case, which keeps a query meant to inspect data from silently mutating it. Listing graphs is not filler: Spanner treats property graphs as first class schema objects queried with GQL, so a database can hold relationships an agent would never find by reading table definitions alone. Access goes through Application Default Credentials against a project, instance and database.
