Document Co-Authoring gives an AI agent a repeatable process for turning scattered knowledge into a clear, audience-ready document. The agent first establishes the document’s purpose, readers, constraints, and available background, then develops the content in manageable sections. Feedback is incorporated through targeted edits so the draft can improve without repeatedly replacing the entire work.

Highlights

  • Collects project context, stakeholder concerns, technical dependencies, and format requirements before drafting.
  • Breaks large writing assignments into sections that can be discussed, drafted, and revised independently.
  • Generates possible points for each section and lets the user decide what should remain, disappear, or be combined.
  • Reviews the completed draft for gaps, repetition, conflicting claims, and weak transitions.
  • Evaluates whether a reader without the original conversation can recover the intended meaning from the document.

The workflow is useful for product managers, engineers, researchers, and team leads writing proposals, technical specifications, RFCs, decision records, or internal guidance. It is published by Anthropic as a standalone SKILL.md folder and can be installed from its dedicated directory in the public skills repository.
