Biomedical data is scattered across dozens of registries that each have their own query language, and BioMCP collapses that into a single search and get grammar over entity types: gene, variant, article, trial, drug, disease, pathway, protein, adverse-event and more. Behind those entities sit MyVariant.info, ClinVar, gnomAD, CIViC, OncoKB, ClinicalTrials.gov v2, PubTator3, Europe PMC, OpenTargets, ChEMBL, UniProt and AlphaFold among others, so a question about a variant can walk from population frequency to clinical significance to open trials without the model learning a new API each step. There is a packaging trap the project documents itself: the PyPI distribution is biomcp-cli, not biomcp. It serves stdio through biomcp serve and streamable HTTP through biomcp serve-http.
